Food Establishment Inspections

                                                  *** UPDATE: New Law on Dogs in Restaurants Effective Sept. 1, 2019 ***

The 86th Texas State Legislative Session passed a new law, State Bill No. 476, which regulates dogs in outdoor seating areas of restaurants. This new law goes into effect on September 1, 2019. 


Food Establishment Inspections are a part of the Code Enforcement division and are currently conducted by a third-party consultant called Bureau Veritas.  

Our inspections of food facilities include:

  • Convenience stores 
  • Day care centers 
  • Full-service and fast food restaurants 
  • School cafeterias
  • Food trucks
  • Snow cone stands
  • Temporary event food booths
