Tall Grass & Weeds
It shall be unlawful for any person to suffer or permit weeds or grass to grow upon premises within the corporate limits of the town to a height greater than 12 inches. Such premises shall include:

• The area between a fence, wall or barrier and within any abutting drainage channel easement to the top of such channel closest to the property
• The parkway between the sidewalk and the curb or pavement
• The right of way between any fence, wall or barrier and the curb or pavement

The existence of any such condition upon premises is detrimental to the public health, safety and welfare and generally increases the risk of fire hazard within the town; therefore, such condition or conditions are deemed to constitute a nuisance.

Any person in violation of the above requirements shall, upon conviction, be fined in accordance with the Town’s penalty provision in section 1.019 of the Code of Ordinances. Each and every day that the provisions of this article are violated shall constitute a distinct and separate offense.

Fence Maintenance
All fences shall be kept in good repair and shall not create urban blight. Dilapidated fences shall be repaired or replaced in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. Fences may be painted or stained with natural wood colors. No bright or unnatural colors are allowed.
