Hello, I am William T. Tackett, Chief of Police, and I would like to welcome you to the Argyle Police Departments web presence. I am very proud of the men and women of this Department who protect and serve you on a daily basis and I hope this website will provide you with an overview of our departmental activity and mission focus.

Your sense of safety and security is our prime concern, and through collaborative problem solving with the community, forward-thinking and the aggressive pursuit of law violators, the Argyle Police Department strives to keep our community safe and secure. Our philosophy of Community Policing means that we listen to what you have to say. We respond to complaints and seek out long-term solutions to neighborhood problems and challenges. Our staff is well trained, well equipped and very committed to serving our great community.

Whether you live or work in Argyle, or are just passing through, you should know that we stand ready to serve. Of course, we cannot do it alone. We need your help in reporting suspicious activity and crime, becoming and remaining involved in our community watch programs and sharing information with us to preserve order and safety.

The Mayor and Town Council have provided the resources to address public safety in our Town. In addition the Argyle Crime Control and Prevention District goes above and beyond in making sure that we remain one of the best equipped, first-in-class police departments of our size. I invite you to get involved with us, apply a little forward-thinking and join us through participation in CERT, TEEN CERT, community watch groups and other such programs.
