Education
The mission of Argyle ISD is to provide an excellent and safe educational environment in which every student’s ability to achieve is realized by building strong character and individual accountability for lifelong learning. The public school system in Argyle, Texas exceeds the standards in both academics and extracurricular achievements. Notwithstanding the move from a 2A school district to District 8-3A in 2006, Argyle ISD continues to excel and reach new heights.
Under the Texas Education Agency’s Accountability Ratings for 2006-07, Hilltop Elementary and Argyle Middle School were awarded an Exemplary rating, and Argyle High School received Recognized status. Gold Performance Acknowledgements were awarded to Argyle ISD for Advanced Placement results, Recognized Degree Plans, College Admissions, and Texas Success Initiative (TSI) for English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics. Additionally, the district received commendations for performance in Reading/ELA, Writing (AMS), Mathematics, Science (AHS), and Social Studies.
Other Academic and Extracurricular Achievements include:
  
• Argyle High School won the 2004, 2005, and 2008 UIL State Academic Championships. The UIL Academic team competes well both individually and as a team.
  
• The UIL Academic Team is a five-time winner of the UIL State Academic Championship in Science (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2008) and UIL State Academic Championship in Mathematics (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008). The team also won the State Championship in Number Sense for 2008.
  
• Argyle High School’s academic team is a 5-time Champion of the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association for 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2008.
  
• The Argyle High School Marching Band won the UIL Division 2A State Marching Championships for 2003-04 and 2005-06, and the Marching Band was a state finalist in Division 3A for 2006-07. Argyle Bands have earned numerous awards and honors at every level.
  
• Girls’ Varsity Basketball team won the UIL 2A Championship in 2005-06.
  
• All boys’ and girls’ sports teams, as well as the AHS UIL One-Act Play, compete well at the district level. Many students have progressed individually to state playoffs, and several have won state championships for their individual efforts.

Liberty Christian School
Liberty Christian School is a non-denominational, college preparatory school, offering 3-year-old Preschool through 12th grade. Enrollment for the current school year is approximately 1,025 students. Class sizes for preschool through 6th grade range from 12 to 20 students. Average class size for upper school is 16 students.
Liberty Christian School has been named back to back Overall State Champions in our division in TAPPS (Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) in 2004 and 2005. This award is based on competition in academics, athletics, and fine arts.
Curriculum
The basic curriculum for the lower school is A Beka, an accelerated Christian curriculum. The upper school uses a variety of resources, many of which are Christian publishers, to offer students a challenging curriculum as expected in a college preparatory school. Liberty Christian School offers a full academic upper school program which includes Advanced Placement and Honors courses. All instructors infuse Bible truths within each discipline taught.
Lower school students participate in music, Spanish, computer, and physical education classes. The upper school offers a variety of electives such as Yearbook, Theatre, Band, Choir, Aerobics, Computer, Art, Latin, Speech, Drill Team, and Cheerleading.
Liberty is not affiliated with a specific denomination; Bible instruction focuses on the basic tenets of Christianity. Liberty Christian School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
Extracurricular Activities
Liberty offers a variety of extracurricular activities including a full athletic program participating under TAPPS, the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools, with programs for football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, cross country, track, swimming, tennis, and golf; a fine arts department which includes theatre, art, band, and choir; and student clubs such as National Honor Society, Student Council Association, Builder's Club, and Key Club.
